A U.S. intelligence assessment completed shortly before the United States and Israel launched a war in Iran had determined that American military intervention was not likely to lead to regime change in the Islamic Republic, according to two people familiar with the finding. The National Intelligence Council’s assessment in February concluded that neither limited airstrikes nor a larger, prolonged military campaign would be likely to result in a new government taking over in Iran, even if the current leadership was killed, according to the two people, who spoke on condition of anonymity to describe the classified report. The determination undercuts the administration’s…

The author reportedly saw William Frederick Cody a few days after they spoke, by which time the 70-year-old had entered a coma. Buffalo Bill Cody died of kidney failure in Denver on January 10, 1917. He was regarded as a hero in his own time by many; a century later, his legacy is more complicated. To write anything new of Buffalo Bill is almost impossible. The world has known him for…

United States senator and infamous war hawk Lindsey Graham has said that the ruling class is going to “make a ton of money” off the war it just started with Iran. If the U.S. is successful in toppling the Iranian government, the U.S. will control almost a third of the world’s oil and make record profits. Graham has already said that the cost of the attacks on Iran were the “best money ever spent,” arguing that the purpose is to prevent the country from developing nuclear weapons. Iran has repeatedly denied that it intends to create nukes and insists that…

United States President Donald Trump has downplayed the economic impact of $100 a barrel oil as a “very small price to pay” in order to keep up the war efforts. “ONLY FOOLS WOULD THINK DIFFERENTLY!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. The surge in oil prices and subsequent damage to the U.S. economy could to be too much for many Americans. Right now, most everyday people are feeling the cost-of-living crisis as inflation crushes their purchasing power, and the costs of everything have skyrocketed. But you’ll get no sympathy from the ruling class, who are now telling people who can’t…

Sign up for the Quick Strike Newsletter The hottest fishing news, tips, and tactics SONNY MCFARLAND has disappeared. I shouldn’t have been surprised. The East Tennessee region where he made his name is notoriously insular, with a history of bootlegging and moonshiners who took great pains to hide themselves from revenuers.  Multiple anglers who learned the art of making balsa crankbaits at Sonny’s knee said they didn’t have his number. A noted remaining contemporary likewise demurred. One day “he was just gone,” said another former friend. Even Rob Cochran — who has known McFarland since he was 8 years old,…

This article was originally published by Michael Snyder at The Economic Collapse Blog.  There is no way to get around it. We are facing a major global economic disruption, and the longer this war goes on, the worse it will get. As I have reminded my readers on numerous occasions, our entire way of life is predicated on cheap energy, and the Middle East is the most important energy-producing region in the entire world. Traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has been paralyzed, and energy infrastructure has been under attack by both sides. In fact, this morning Tehran was “covered in…

Podcast: Play in new window | DownloadUnless you’ve been taking a break from current events, you’re aware that the U.S. and Israel have launched a campaign of attacks against Iran, including the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, and Shia Cleric, Ali Hosseini Khamenei, which, as expected, prompted Iran to launch missile attacks at a number of Middle Eastern countries. That is prompting a variety of reactions in return. For many, especially in the in-tune-to-dangerous-times prepping community, there’s an unsettled feeling, maybe a worry-induced knot in our stomach, or something else that warns us this latest conflict could carry dangerous second-…
