Trump Says The U.S. “Needs” Tomahawk Missiles

Trump Says The U.S. “Needs” Tomahawk Missiles

The current United States ruler, Donald Trump, claimed that sending Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine would not be easy. He added that the U.S. war machine “needs” their “amazing weapons”.

During a bilateral lunch alongside Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky before their official meeting in the White House on Friday, Trump acknowledged that the U.S. would face certain difficulties if it were to send missiles to Kiev and found itself in a conflict of its own. On top of that, Russia has already given a nuclear warning about the use of such weapons in the war.

Russia Warns Of Nuclear Retaliation Over Tomahawks

“That’s a problem. We need Tomahawks, and we need a lot of other things that we’ve been sending over the last four years to Ukraine… We gave them a lot,” he said. “It’s not easy for us to give. You’re talking about massive numbers of very powerful weapons,” he added.

Accoridng to a report by RT, Trump also admitted that giving the missile to Ukraine for use against Russia would be a massive escalation. Tomahawks are “an amazing weapon,” he said. “But they’re a very dangerous weapon… It could mean a lot of bad things can happen.”

Russian ruler Vladimir Putin agreed that it would not help the war. It would “severely undermine the prospects of a peaceful settlement,” Putin said, according to his aide. Putin added that the missiles would not alter the outcome of the war; they would only harm relations between the U.S. and Russia.

As of right now, Trump has not committed to sending the weapons to Ukraine; however, he may change his mind in the future.

Trump previously threatened to send the missiles to Ukraine if Russia failed to “settle” the war, placing the burden on Putin’s government.
