by Lee Williams Marianna Mitchem, ATF’s former Associate Assistant Director of Field Operations (Industry Operations), is now working for former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg’s anti-gun group, Everytown for Gun Safety, according to a former ATF senior official who did not want their name used in this story.  Mitchem has turned on the ATF since joining Everytown, the former official said. She is reaching out to her former colleagues, trying to target Glock and Glock-type handguns.  Mitchem began her 20-year ATF career in 2005 as an IOI, an Industry Operations Investigator, who inspects gun shops to ensure their records…

As armed National Guard troops patrol the nation’s capital as part of an unprecedented federal takeover of Washington’s police department, handling crime is now a relative strength for President Donald Trump, according to the latest AP-NORC poll.Americans are generally not happy about the Republican president’s handling of issues like immigration and the economy but are more positive about his tough-on-crime approach, according to the survey from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.Indeed, the vast majority of Americans, 81%, see crime as a “major problem” in large cities — a concern Trump has seized on as he has deployed…

These strikes can be savage, and they rarely happen when you’re expecting them to. But every so often, you might get lucky and catch one on camera up close. Connor Norgrove did, in a cast-to-catch video he shared to Instagram, and it’s one of the most badass muskie videos you’ll ever see. The clip shows a nearly 50-inch muskie hitting a big,…

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this week that his military no longer needs permission from the United States ruling class to strike deep inside Russia. It now has a new flamingo missile with a 3,000 km range that will allow the war-mongering country to “bypass” any restrictions. The Pentagon has quietly blocked Ukraine from using American-supplied ATACMS missiles to hit Russian territory since late spring. Ukraine’s resources, manpower, and Western support have been dwindling, which makes the Flamingo a desperate last gamble rather than a war-winning strategy. It still doesn’t look possible for Ukraine to win this war, even with…

Israel has demolished 1,000 buildings in Gaza in its raid, while the bombardment has also reportedly trapped hundreds of civilians under rubble and strained emergency services. The more than 1,000 buildings that have been destroyed in Gaza City’s Zaytoun and Sabra neighborhoods since Israeli forces began a new ground incursion this month are trapping people under them, Al Jazeera has reported, citing Palestinian Civil Defence. The once lively city has now been reduced to rubble. Zaytoun was known for its bustling markets, olive groves, and tight-knit community. Generations of families have lived there. In a statement on Sunday, Civil Defence reported…

Sign up for the On The Gun Newsletter The latest for gun hunters and competitive shooters. Each year we review the best new rifles of the year and highlight some remarkable (and expensive) new guns. We spend a lot of ink on the most accurate and most innovative rifles because, well, they’re the most interesting.  But for the workaday deer hunter who cares more about value than refinement, a lot of these new guns, and the high-end scopes that we mount on them, just aren’t practical. Happily, there’s a whole class of rifles, optics, and hunting ammo that are affordable…

New Mexico’s waiting period law, which forces gun purchasers to wait seven days after paying for a firearm and passing the background check, has been ruled unconstitutional by the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. HB 129, which was signed into law by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham in 2024, mandated a seven-day waiting period on any gun buyer, other than a concealed handgun license holder, who clears an FBI background check to purchase a gun. And another provision made the new law even worse. The law also states: “If the required federal instant background check has not been completed within twenty…

DiLorenzo, “America’s Temple to Political Plunder” “. . . virtue never has been as respectable as…

In a deservedly sarcastic piece of writing, the head of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) recently blistered so-called Everytown For Gun Safety’s brand new “gun safety training” initiative. In a news item posted on the group’s website on August 18 titled “Cue the Clown Car: Everytown Gun Control Wants to Train Gun Owners,” Larry Keane, NSSF senior vice president and general counsel, wrote about the rich irony of a group that’s never seen a gun control proposal it doesn’t like acting like it plans to train gun owners in safe usage—ironically the same gun owners the group wants to…
