This article was originally published by Joshua Mawhorter at the Mises Institute.  Western and American culture can be said to have undergone a process of infantilization—reduction to a childish and immature state. The familiar maxim “hard times create strong men; strong men create good times; good times create weak men;…

Late last month, U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi announced that the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division filed a federal lawsuit against the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD), citing a “pattern or practice of infringing the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens seeking concealed carry weapons (CCW) permits.” The…

This article was originally published by Tyler Durden at ZeroHedge.  For some reason, Germany loves recruiting migrants into its police force in the name of diversity. In 2022, roughly 42% of police recruits who took the most common path into Berlin’s police force were migrants or came from migrant families, according to a major survey (37% including all pathways). What’s more, Berlin is the only German state where the proportion of new police recruits with a migration background matches or exceeds the city’s own population share (35%) according to that same survey. Now, (shocker!) roughly 55% of Germany’s new police recruits don’t meet German language standards for…

Maj. John “Lucky” Luckadoo, the last surviving B-17 pilot of the Eighth Air Force’s famed “Bloody Hundredth” Bombing Group, died in his home Sept. 1, his family announced. He was 103. Born March 16, 1922, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Luckadoo would join the U.S. Army Air Forces months after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. He was just a wide-eyed 21-year-old lieutenant assigned to the Mighty Eighth’s 100th Bomb Group when he manned the controls and took to the sky for his first bombing mission over Nazi Germany as co-pilot of a famed B-17 Flying Fortress. The aeronautical revelation at Luckadoo’s fingertips…

Podcast: Play in new window | DownloadYou’ve probably heard it before: that 90% of Americans would die within a year of an EMP attack. It’s one of the most quoted numbers in all of preparedness. But that number didn’t come from a study or model. It came from a single sentence in a 2005 Senate hearing. It wasn’t a forecast—it was one extreme of a range, from no deaths to full collapse. Still, over time, the 90% death rate became gospel. And too many people now treat it as an inevitable outcome, especially in the prepper community. I’m not an…

Podcast: Play in new window | DownloadIf you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by preparedness and life in general, you’re not alone. I received a message from someone in the Mind4Survival community that said: “I feel so overwhelmed by everything I need to do, and it keeps me from doing anything.” That kind of overwhelm—the kind of overwhelm that keeps you from doing things because it paralyses your ability to take action is more common than you might think. And it makes sense. You’re juggling family, work, stress, life in general—and on top of that, you’re supposed to plan and prepare for…

We were surprised but pleased last August when a district court judge, ruling in a Kansas case, found that the federal restriction on machine gun ownership was unconstitutional. At the time, U.S. District Judge John Broomes used the Supreme Court’s instructions set down in the Bruen ruling to determine that the Second Amendment protects ownership of machine guns as well as other arms. However, on September 2, a three-judge panel of the Denver-based 10th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the district court’s decision in U.S. v. Morgan, ruling that the court was wrong to conclude that charges against a Kansas…

Construction is underway on what’s billed as a “first-of-its-kind” barracks designed to significantly improve the quality of life for junior unaccompanied service members at Fort Irwin, California. The privatized barracks project, slated for completion in April 2028, will replace existing barracks with 276 modern apartment units in three-story buildings, designed to house 545 service members. The project marks a pilot program “with the potential to reshape junior unaccompanied housing across the Army,” Army officials said in an announcement about the groundbreaking ceremony held Friday. It’s a partnership between the Army and The Michaels Organization, a partner in military privatized housing…

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Air Force Gen. Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, arrived in Puerto Rico on Monday as the U.S. steps up its military operations against drug cartels in the Caribbean.Their arrival in the U.S. territory comes more than a week after ships carrying hundreds of U.S. Marines deployed to Puerto Rico for a training exercise, a move that some on the island have criticized.RELATED“We thank President Trump and his administration for recognizing the strategic importance of Puerto Rico to U.S. national security and for their fight against…

Hornady’s OAL gauge is a useful tool for determining maximum overall length for your handloaded ammunition. It utilizes a modified case (that you can buy) that’s drilled and tapped to thread onto the end of the gauge. This piece of brass doesn’t have the neck tension to hold a bullet securely, so when installed on the gauge you can drop a bullet into the neck,…

This article was originally published by Laurent Thynes at The Mises Institute.  New Yorkers appear to be on the cusp of electing a self-described socialist, Zohran Mamdani, as their next mayor. At first glance, his youth-friendly marketing comes off as rather gimmicky, as do some of his policy recommendations, such as free public buses and state-provided baby baskets. But make no mistake, his core agenda forms perhaps the most heavily interventionist platform the city has ever witnessed, and his proposed price controls could very swiftly bring about the return of the misery of the 1970s. $30 Minimum Wage by 2030 His platform states, “As Mayor, Zohran will champion a new…

Pelican Re-set Kit Buy Now When it comes to expensive rifles needing maximum protection, nobody’s buying a soft case. Pelican hard cases have been the industry gold standard for many years, but now they’re being upgraded in the Re-Set package. A short bit of lore before we get rolling. I recently finished up the M110-ish article series. While the base rifle is a PSA Sabre-10, I had some custom work done to the barrel to add an M110 gas block. By the time I finished, I had a Leupold MK4 LR/T 3.5-10x scope, a Paq-4 IR laser, a Griffin Armament…

Whether you’re dealing with something as serious as a home invasion, following up a wounded animal, or chasing hogs in the middle of the night, a gun-mounted light is a great accessory. This guide details the options to weigh when picking an illumination tool, to use…

On Tuesday, September 2, the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that an Illinois concealed carry ban on the CTA and Metra public transportation lines is not unconstitutional, reversing a previous federal judge who found the law in violation under current Supreme Court standards. The original ruling came after four concealed carry permit holders sued the state over part of its 2013 Firearm Concealed Carry Act, claiming the law prevented them from carrying weapons for self-defense. When the initial ruling was issued in 2024, U.S. District Judge Iain D. Johnston found that the state failed in its obligation to…

In one scene from National Geographic’s new limited series about naval fighter pilots, Navy Lt. j.g. Andrew Seepe speeds back to base in his T-45 Goshawk trainer following a successful skills test. High on the moment, he continues to accelerate until he’s about 100 over the prescribed limit of 350 knots.“Seepe, don’t ride the lightning,” a concerned tower operator radios. If this were a Tom Cruise film, Seepe would have chuckled and tried to spill the operator’s coffee. Instead, he sobers up fast, realizing his future career dreams are in the balance, and submits to an ego-bruising scolding and review without…

Russia has claimed that elite divers from the United Kingdom were the most likely culprits behind the Nord Stream pipeline’s sabotage. Nikolay Patrushev, a top aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, has claimed that Ukraine lacked the expertise to bomb the Baltic Sea pipelines, so outside “help” was necessary. Seymour Hersh: CIA Planted Nord Stream Cover-Up Story in the Media In an article published Sunday in Kommersant, the former head of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), Nikolay Patrushev, posed the theory that Ukrainians lack the expertise to carry out this operation independently because of its complexity, according to a report…

I enjoy hunting as much as the next diehard, but one of my favorite parts of deer camp is the food. Fresh tenderloin over the fire or even a hunk of summer sausage and cheese just tastes better after freezing in a treestand all day. This year, forget flimsy plastic forks — or God forbid a spork — and skewer your meal…
