Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has proposed creating a new political party called the “America Party,” marking a sharp shift in strategy amid his breakup with current ruler, Donald Trump.  The tech entrepreneur’s political shift comes as the rift between the two deepens. Musk has had an incredibly public falling out with Donald Trump recently, whom he strongly supported during last year’s election. Musk established and funded a pro-Trump political group, donating over $260 million to the presidential campaign. He was appointed by Trump in January to co-lead the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE),…

This story, “Hunting the 50th State: Goats Over the Gulches,” appeared in the June 1961 issue of Outdoor Life. THE AVERAGE MAINLANDER thinks of Hawaii only as a tropical paradise where hula dancers sway, trade winds blow, and luxurious hotels beckon. Few realize that there’s excellent big-game hunting here, especially on several of the “outside” islands. Take, for example, the island of Lanai-one of the lesser-known of the populated islands-where I put in a hitch as resident wildlife biologist for the Hawaiian Division of Fish…

This article was originally published by Michael Snyder at The End of the American Dream.  The Russians and the Chinese have both been developing new intercontinental ballistic missiles that can cause such immense destruction that they make the nuclear bomb that destroyed Hiroshima look like a child’s toy. The U.S. has been working on a new intercontinental ballistic missile, too, but it won’t be ready for quite a few years. Unfortunately, we are closer to nuclear war right now than we have been at any other point in human history. In fact, we are extremely fortunate that the Russians didn’t…

But questions from lawmakers are unlikely to stay only on that topic. The defense secretary will be accompanied by Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine in his first post-confirmation testimony, as well. Caine replaced Gen. CQ Brown after the latter was fired by President Donald Trump in February for unspecified reasons. Last week, Senate leaders said they didn’t expect specifics on the president’s defense budget plan for several more weeks. But lawmakers said they need to press forward on the issue now to have any hope of reaching a funding deal by October, the start of the new fiscal year.…

Protestors are clashing with law enforcement officers in California, and United States President Donald Trump has had enough. The U.S. ruler has ordered the deployment of 2,000 National Guardsmen to Los Angeles County following several days of violent protests and attacks against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, the White House announced on Saturday. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump has signed a Presidential Memorandum authorizing the National Guard deployment. He cited “attacks” against ICE officers and “lawlessness that has been allowed to fester.” Leavitt said the administration has a zero-tolerance policy toward violence directed at law enforcement.…

Apart from its rugged mountains and other stunning scenery, the abundant wildlife in the park is a key draw. Here we’ve selected almost a dozen photographs of the wildlife that lives there, all of which were taken by NPS photographers within the bounds of Grand Teton.…

This article was originally published by Michael Snyder at The Economic Collapse Blog.  I am so tired of hearing that “everything is fine” when everything is most certainly not fine.  Every day, I hear from people who are really suffering in this harsh economic environment.  Some can’t find work, others are stressed out of their minds because they can’t make ends meet, and there are some who are even on the verge of losing everything. Because they are constantly being told that the economy is in good shape, many of them have been convinced that the suffering that they are…

Sitting on a roadside boulder in the Australian Outback, I scraped the last beans from the bottom of a can. Then it was back to work. With the aid of a fading headlamp, I continued fleshing a massive camel cape draped across my lap. Once I got to the lips, I realized the task was far greater than caping a moose.
