This article was originally published by Tyler Durden at ZeroHedge.  Asian and European equities climbed on Monday, while U.S. equity futures jumped and Brent crude fell, as signs of a possible U.S.-Iran deal boosted risk appetite. To note, the U.S. is on holiday. Both sides appear to be moving closer to ending the three-month conflict and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. However, overnight comments from senior Iranian officials suggest gaps remain, particularly over the future of Iran’s nuclear program and uranium enrichment. “It is true that a consensus was reached on many of the topics discussed, but no one can…

The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) is expanding rapidly. There are now over 900 suspected cases, as violence and displacement make it more difficult for health care officials to contain the outbreak. Out of the 900 suspected cases, 101 infections have been confirmed so far, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Kinshasa declared the epidemic on May 15, marking the country’s 17th recorded Ebola crisis since the virus was first identified there in 1976. Two days later, the WHO classified the Bundibugyo strain detected in the DR Congo and neighboring Uganda as a public…

It describes the aftermath of an escape from a forced labor camp in Germany during World War I. While labor camps were notorious in World War II, they were less used — and also less publicized — in WWI. Some 4,120 Americans were held as prisoners of war in WWI; of those, there were 147 confirmed deaths. Many more POWs died from forced labor during WWII, including…

This article was originally published by Michael Snyder at The Economic Collapse Blog.  For most people, the price of gasoline is the most obvious consequence of the war in the Middle East. As I write this article, the average price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States is $4.56. Of course, in some parts of the country, consumers are paying much more than that. This is a big story, and the truth is that gasoline prices are going to go even higher in the months ahead. But if you think that the price of gasoline is bad, just wait…

Ticks are small, but they can cause big problems. These tiny parasites feed on the blood of animals and people. A tick bite may seem minor at first, yet some ticks carry diseases that can lead to serious illness. For anyone who spends time outdoors, learning about ticks is a practical step. Whether you hike, garden, camp, hunt, work outside, or simply enjoy your backyard, knowing how ticks live and how to avoid them can help you protect yourself and your family. Two grizzly bears were killed in the state in 1951, before the bears were declared an endangered species. Both were about three years old. One of them was killed just a dozen miles or so from the place where Wiseman was attacked.  THE BEAR came at me with no warning. Ears…
