It was June 5, 1944 — one day before Allied landings on the coast of German-occupied Normandy — and the American Eighth Air Force was setting out to bomb enemy coastal defenses from the Cherbourg Peninsula to the Pas de Calais. Among the participating bombers were Consolidated B-24s of the 489th Bombardment Group (Heavy), led by the group’s deputy commander, Lt. Col. Leon R. Vance. Thanks to the past few months’ onslaught by VIII Fighter Command there was little to no aerial opposition from the Luftwaffe. However, German anti-aircraft guns remained plentiful and continued to take their toll of the…
Sign up for the On The Gun Newsletter The latest for gun hunters and competitive shooters. The old buck walked slowly around the point, stopped, reached up for a mouthful of browse. The gold bead came to rest against his graybrown hide, almost covering him. Then the rifle cracked and the buck dropped, killed instantly, his mouth still full of juniper. That sounds like the end of a hunting yarn, instead of the beginning of a piece on rifles. I brought that up simply because that big buck was the first deer I, shooting a .270, ever connected with, and…
Veterans Affairs officials will extend community care authorizations for up to one year for procedures related to 30 separate medical specialties, a move that critics charge could potentially put taxpayers on the hook for expensive and ineffective medical treatments. Department leaders on Monday said the change is needed to ensure that veterans’ medical care outside the federal health systems is not delayed or disrupted by cumbersome regulation. Currently, patients need to get reauthorizations every three to six months for the community care appointments. “No veteran should have their health care disrupted by red tape,” VA Secretary Doug Collins said in…
This article was originally published by Rhoda Wilson at Natural News. Terrana Biosciences is on a mission to replace pesticides with its RNA-based sprays as “vaccines” for plants to protect crops from pests and diseases. The RNA is taken from plant viruses. Terrana claims its sprays do not alter the plant genome and merely deliver RNA into plants to stimulate an immune response or produce protective proteins. But in reality, they don’t know, as there have been no long-term safety studies. The company describes its products as: “Terrana sources native RNAs from across the plant world and gives them new instructions to make any…

This article was originally published by S.D. Wells at Natural News. Hillary Clinton may soon be spending 23 hours a day on lockdown and one hour in the “yard” at the penitentiary for committing treasonous acts not long ago. Newly declassified documents released Thursday reveal a startling picture of political manipulation and intelligence misuse during the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Spearheaded by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, the disclosures suggest that the CIA and FBI were not just bystanders but active participants in a Clinton campaign-driven plan to link Donald Trump to Russian interference—allegedly to distract from Hillary Clinton’s own email scandal.…
NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Liberal journalist Jim Acosta “interviewed” the artificially animated avatar of deceased teenager Joaquin Oliver to promote a gun control message on Monday.Working with the gun control group Change the Ref, founded by Oliver’s parents, Acosta had conversation on his Substack with an avatar created by the father of the son, who was killed in the Parkland high school shooting in 2018. He would have turned 25 on Monday.”I would like to know what your solution would be for gun violence,” Acosta asked.”Great question. I believe in a mix of stronger gun control…

As federal wildlife managers and ranchers work to find new ways to scare wolves away from livestock operations, they’re experimenting with different audio recordings played by overhead drones. The voice of A-list actor Scarlett Johansson is one of the recordings they’ve had success with, according to The Wall Street Journal. The recent experiment in Oregon, which was led by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, was part of a study into the use…

The contract also includes telemetry systems and engineering support products. The AMRAAM is a flexible, powerful and lightweight missile that can be equipped by a wide breadth of warplanes for air-to-air combat strikes. It can…
Authorities in South Africa’s Western Cape have confirmed new bird flu outbreaks while urging the public to stay alert but not alarmed. The highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) has been spreading rapidly throughout the United States’ poultry and dairy cattle, and while that outbreak seems to have abated for now, South Africa is experiencing an increase in the virus’s prevalence. HPAI has been responsible for mortalities in Great White Pelicans near Malmesbury and Hartlaub’s Gulls in the Cape Town area, accoridng to a report by the Western Cape. These are the first wild bird cases reported in the Western Cape…

A traveling NHL mascot got the full Alaskan fishing experience last week while filming a promotional video in Katmai National Park. The resulting viral video clip shows “Buoy,” the mascot for the Seattle Kraken, getting bluff-charged by a bear and chased off a salmon-filled stream. In addition to entertainment value, the clip provides a fundamental lesson about Alaska’s brown bears: big furry things tend to draw the attention of other big furry things. At least that was the takeaway for John…

In the face of horrific conscription, Ukrainian soldiers are also deserting the army in droves. Over 400,000 Ukrainian soldier have abandoned their units, including volunteers, with no plans to return to the battlefield. It is difficult to fight a war for a side that is simply not going to win. The only thing Ukraine can do is keep the war going as it burns through its financial and military aid given to it by the West. “Many will never return, because it is principled… You can’t treat like animals those who volunteered, fought for three years without seeing family,” Ukrainian…
An F-15E Strike Eagle deployed to Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan, landed safely despite a missing landing gear wheel, the Air Force’s 18th Wing said Monday morning. The two airmen flying the fighter were uninjured in the emergency landing, the Air Force said in a statement, with emergency personnel responding to the scene. The 18th Wing said the wheel was recovered on the flightline at U.S. Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia, in the Indian Ocean. On the heels of fielding the military’s first attack drone team, the U.S. Marine Corps added another weapon to their drone-fighting arsenal: a 90-page handbook all about employing small, unmanned aerial systems against the enemy and integrating them into formations. The 1st Marine Division Schools’ Small UAS/Counter-small UAS Integration Handbook was published in June and approved for public release. The IGFA currently recognizes Cal Johnson’s 67-pound, 8-ounce muskie as the world record. September 1957 had been, Art Lawton recalled, a “miracle” month of muskie fishing. The muskies in New York’s St. Lawrence River had been on a feeding ramp age, and Lawton along with his wife, Ruth, had been there to intercept them. The couple had taken 30 muskies weighing from 18 to 49 pounds in one week of fishing. And…
United States Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has said that voters declared they wanted an end to foreign wars when they voted for Donald Trump. She added that to continue to fund Ukraine is a “betrayal to the majority of Americans.” Greene made the comments recently after a group of U.S. senators introduced a bill to allocate $54.6 billion in aid to Ukraine over the 2026 and 2027 fiscal years. President Donald Trump has repeatedly opposed more US aid to Kiev, arguing that European nations should cover those costs. “Funding, fueling, and ultimately fighting Russia in Ukraine would be a complete…
