Glock Ban Heads To Gavin Newsom’s Desk

Glock Ban Heads To Gavin Newsom’s Desk

On September 12, the California legislature approved AB 1127, a deceptive measure and brainchild of Democrat Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel that would ban one of the most popular handguns in the world from being available to California residents. The bill follows a predictable pattern of disingenuousness from lawmakers who claim they care about public safety, but the devil is always in the details, and even that heathen is calling BS on this dumpster fire.

Approved 29-2 by the state Senate, AB 1127 could mean the end of Glocks and Glock clones in the once American state still known as California. The bill was rushed into a rare Saturday session of the Assembly the following day, passing 54-16 largely along party lines, leaving one step remaining in the fascist agenda, a signature from Governor Gavin Newsom, a totalitarian Democrat who has never seen a piece of anti-Second Amendment legislation he hasn’t fallen in love with.

Supporters include the usual grifters, like Everyfascist For Gun Safety, whose head propaganda clown seized the opportunity to praise his fellow anti-American legislators for their ongoing commitment to dismantle the Bill of Rights.

“DIY machine guns are just as scary as they sound, and we applaud California legislators for taking action to prevent gun makers from selling handguns that can easily be converted to fully automatic weapons… Time is of the essence, and we urge Governor Newsom to sign this bill and continue to lead the nation on gun safety,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown.

Language in the bill does not single Glock out by name; rather, it is designed to target “machine gun-convertible pistols,” which the bill defines as being able to accept a common aftermarket full-auto switch or insert. But couldn’t anyone with a Dremel, some firearm knowledge, and a little ingenuity find a way to modify almost any gun in this manner? As it pertains to Glock, these devices are neither manufactured nor endorsed by the company, and possession of them is illegal under the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA), which I will note remains a violation of the Second Amendment, not that .gov concerns itself with matters of the Constitution at this point.

The detail that really gives the whole scam away, however, is the fact that AB 1127 does not allow for Glock or any clone manufacturer to permanently modify firearms in a way that prevents the use of these switches, bringing them into compliance with the new draconian measure. Asking why reveals the true, and not hard to predict, motive, which is identical to that of California’s handgun roster scheme. The point is to chip away at access, restrict, limit, and whittle the market down to the point where an overall firearm prohibition is hardly necessary, yet California still gets to claim falsely that the Second Amendment exists within its borders.

“AB 1127 operates as a veiled ban on Glock handguns and dozens of its clones, one of the most widely used and trusted firearm brands in the world… By specifically targeting the potential for modification, this bill disproportionately affects potential Glock purchasers and restricts access to one of the most popular handguns available, further demonstrating that this legislation is not about safety but about incremental firearm prohibition,” says Gun Owners of California, a group representing 13 million California gun owners.

Gun controllers will do what gun controllers do best, and that is to facilitate the erosion of Constitutional rights, especially the God-given right to self-defense. You see, gun control is never about the gun and always about the control, one of the foremost tenets of the left. When they use a firearm to silence a conservative voice, they mock the victim and his family, celebrate, and ask for more. They feel righteous in a way that can only be described as a sick and demonic perspective on discourse and human life. They make excuses when one of their beloved “protected class” shoots up a school, stabs an innocent woman to death on a train, or guns down a husband and father in front of his family. This is the hypocrisy. This is the disease. This is the left.
