Beretta M9A1 Pistol Is Back: Military Classic Returns

Beretta USA has officially reintroduced the iconic M9A1 9mm pistol to the American market — a sidearm that earned its reputation serving U.S. service members for decades. This is the pistol that many Marines, soldiers, sailors, and airmen trusted in combat zones around the globe, and now it’s back for those who want a piece of that military history.

The M9A1 isn’t just another 9mm. It’s a proven, duty-grade sidearm built on Beretta’s decades of military experience, bringing shooters the same rugged reliability that helped it survive the harshest conditions on earth.

M9A1 Features

Beretta didn’t mess with what made the M9A1 a classic. It’s still got all the features that made it a favorite in uniform:

  • Ambidextrous Slide Safety & Decocker – Easy to operate under stress, whether you’re a righty or lefty.
  • Short Reset Trigger Bar – Less travel means faster follow-up shots when seconds count.
  • Front & Backstrap Checkering – Get a rock-solid grip even with wet or gloved hands.
  • MIL-STD-1913 Accessory Rail – Mount your weapon light or laser and be mission-ready.

Add in a beveled mag well for speed reloads, classic 3-dot sights, and your choice of 10- or 15-round mags, and you’ve got a pistol that’s as relevant today as it was when it served as America’s sidearm.

“The M9A1 has proven itself as a sidearm that can be relied upon in the most demanding environments,” said Broxton Carlile, Beretta USA’s Pistol Product Manager. “We’re excited to make it available again to those who want a true piece of military history paired with the reliability of Beretta engineering.”

Availability

Each M9A1 ships with two magazines and carries an MSRP of $829. A California-compliant version is also available. You can find them now through authorized Beretta dealers nationwide.

Why It Matters

For those who carried an M9A1 downrange — or just appreciate the blend of military pedigree and Italian engineering — this relaunch is your chance to own the same sidearm that’s been on duty for decades.
